Staff Development Activities

Teachers at UPCE are highly engaged in site-based professional development activities. The focus for this year's professional development is to increase student achievement through differentiated instruction and Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures. During a recent half-day professional development workshop, teachers practiced learning how to utilize Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures for project-based learning in their classrooms. The Kagan Team projects included Halloween posters that will serve as decorations for the school's Haunted House on October 30th. Teachers learned how this fun and engaging activity could be used to teach shapes, area, circumference, perimeter, and measurement. Click here to view pictures of the staff development activities.
